Consent (type: esriFieldTypeString, alias: You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Rutgers University on behalf of the Middlesex County Office of Planning. This survey will inform the on-going Integrated Landscape and Ecosystem Services Plan (L-Plan), a part of the Middlesex County Destination 2040 Planning Process. The L-Plan is an environmental planning study that aims to leverage the ecological services of Middlesex County while developing a vision for the cultural landscape of the County. This study's overall objective is to identify places in Middlesex County that have significant value to the people who live, work, and play in the County. Currently, we can identify historical, recreational, and environmental locations. However, there has been no opportunity for the people who live, work, or visit Middlesex County to identify and map their favorite places in the County. Additionally, with the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the relative importance of landscape elements may have shifted based on local restrictions aimed to protect the health and safety of the people of Middlesex County. This survey should take you approximately 5 minutes to complete. Your participation in the survey is entirely voluntary, and there are no risks to participation. If you wish to stop participating at any time, you are free to do so with no penalty. This research is confidential. Confidential means that the research records will include some information about you, such as your estimated household income. However, the Rutgers research team, Middlesex County Office of Planning, and the Institutional Review Board at Rutgers University are the only parties that will be allowed to see the full set of data, except as may be required by law. If a report of the study is published, or the results are presented at a professional conference, only group results will be stated. By agreeing to take the survey and upload a photo, you agree that the photos you upload may be used anonymously to publish the resulting planning document. For participating in the survey, you may choose to be entered into a lottery to win a gift card. Three participants will be selected at random to win a $100 gift card. To be considered for the gift card prize, you must provide an email address and name for contact purposes. If you have any questions at any time about the research or the procedures described above, or if you need assistance in completing the survey, you may contact the study principal investigators Wolfram Hoefer, Tel: 848-932-9313, Email: whoefer@sebs.rutgers.edu or Jon Carnegie, Tel: 848-932-2840, Email: carnegie@ejb.rutgers.edu.
