Service Description: This dataset is a record of soil core sampling activity undertaken in support of various roadway and underground utility projects in the City and County of Denver. The period of record for this dataset is from the 1960s to the present day. At each location depicted in the dataset, a hole was drilled through pavement (where present) and up to five layers of soil to determine the nature and depth of soil layers in the project area, as well as depth to water.

This dataset contains three categories of data. First, it includes information regarding the project(s) authorizing the sampling. Second, it includes information regard the location and depth of sampling with respect to city addressing, street grid, and local landmarks. Finally, the dataset includes the results of sampling, including soil typing and characterization, lab test results of the soils, and depth to water under the road surface.
