Service Description: This Catalog comprises 812 hydrological effects induced by seismic events of magnitude ranging between M=4.1 and M=7.1, occurring in Central-Southern Italy between 1654 and 2019. The Catalog includes observations of stream, spring, and well discharge variations; liquefaction; turbid flow; changes in the chemical-physical parameters of water. The data were compiled from various sources spanning ∼360 years, including genre literature, historical chronicles, seismic postcards, and modern scientific papers.

Description:
The Italian Catalog of Earthquake-Induced Hydrological Effects is organized into two different datasets that report the most important parameters and informations about the source earthquakes and about the hydrological observations, respectively.
The seismic event dataset (Events - red stars) reports the main parameters of earthquakes (date, coordinates, magnitude, intensity, etc) that originated the hydrological effects. The observations dataset (Observations - yellow dots) lists several parameters and data (location, epicentral distance, type of observation, quality code etc) associated with each observation. It also contains the complete reference list for each observation.

The Catalog is freely available at https://www.ingv.it/risorse-e-servizi/archivi-e-banche-dati or with ArcGIS Map Viewer
