Name: Observation point

Display Field: Place

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint

Description: Co-seismic surface ruptures recognized during the field survey by the Emergeo Working Group (http://emergeo.ingv.it) within the epicentral area of the 2009 L’Aquila earthquake sequence. The layer displays two categories of observations: tectonic ruptures and secondary effects (shaking-induced features). Observation points contain information about the typology, geometrical characteristics and a brief description of the observed feature, including pictures. Co-seismic surface ruptures are detailed and interpreted by a number of Authors in the literature (e.g. Emergeo W.G. - Quad. Geofis. 2009, Terra Nova 2010; Falcucci et al. - SRL 2009; Cinti et al. - JGR 2010).
