Service Description: Private Cemetery. There are some cemeteries that are adjacent to university property, but are not owned or maintained by the university. The Old Kings Grove Baptist Cemetery is a private cemetery located just west of Old
Seneca Road.
Historic Cemeteries. There are two historic cemeteries within the study area. The Colhoun Cemetery, near Keowee Heights, is the resting place of John E. Colhoun and members of the Colhoun family. The grave site of Benjamin Lawrence, a Revolutionary War veteran and a scout for General Andrew Pickens, is located to the north.
