This dataset is based off a GIS layer provided by the State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources (October 23rd, 2018), which shows the spatial distribution of wells in the Kenai Lowlands that have been registered with the state. Attributes provided by the state include, the first and last names of the well owners, the name of the drilling company, the depth of the well in feet, and a LogID created by the DNR unique for each well, which can be searched on the WELTS website. Derived attributes include RealDepth, the elevation in feet of the bottom of the well relative to sea level, and the depths in feet of top and bottom of water bearing formations (WBFs) relative to the land surface (as recorded in well logs). The information contained within this layer was used to map WBFs and Aquifer Outcrops (WBF layers) in the WBF Study Area.
