Description: These are the locations of designated camping areas on properties managed by the South Florida Water Management District. The types of camping allowed on District lands varies depending on the location, size of the camping area, and facilities and amenities provided. Types of camping include tent, backpack, RV, pop-up camper, equestrian, group, and boat-in camping areas. A list of the District’s designated camping areas is located on the District’s Recreation website at www.sfwmd.gov/recreation. In certain instances, a no-cost Special Use License issued by the District may be required for some activities as listed in Public Use Rule 40E-7 F.A.C., such as camping. A list of the areas that require a District’s Special Use License are available on the District’s Recreation website at www.sfwmd.gov/sul.
