Description: Block groups within San Diego County are shown by the absolute number of persons below poverty and the percentage of people below poverty. Census block groups with a darker color have greater poverty numbers, whereas block groups with a lighter color have less poverty. The percentage of persons below poverty is the number of persons below poverty in a block group divided by the total population of the block group times 100.
Data acquired from 2019 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates through the United States Census Bureau website. The U.S. Census Bureau conducts the American Community Survey every year. Data for 2019 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates are based on survey data compiled from 2015 to 2019. Census block groups represent populations at a smaller scale within Census Tracts.
