Description: This dataset is a line layer that includes existing recreational trails located in the State of Florida as of October, 2023. An existing recreational trail is defined as a paved or unpaved trail for hiking, biking, equestrian, multiple use, paddling, or motorized use (ATV, OHM, ROV) that is open to the public. This does not include in-road bike lanes or sidewalks. This layer is compiled from local, state, and federal agencies and organizations. This layer is being maintained in accordance with the Florida Greenways and Trails System Plan, Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP). This data is a work in progress, and can be updated at anytime without warning to correct/update any area. This data is partial and is not considered complete until the entire trails system review has been completed. This dataset is an update to the FGDL layer EXISTING_TRAILS_JUN21.
