The boundary used for comprehensive studies involving future growth for Apex, NC, is bounded by annexation agreement lines with Cary (on the north and east) as well as Holly Springs (on the south). The western boundary is the Wake/Chatham County line. The boundary has been amended twice along the county line to include areas within Chatham County that annexed into Apex corporate limits. This boundary defines the study limits of future land use plans as well as future transportation plans.
