The Verified List includes those waters that have been determined during the Biennial Assessment 2022-2024 to not meet water quality standards and are proposed for addition to the State's Verified List of Impaired Waters and the Clean Water Act (CWA) section 303(d) list. The "verified list" is the list of Florida's impaired waterbodies in need of a total maximum daily load (TMDL) and that fail to attain designated uses and/or meet the minimum criteria for surface waters established in the Surface Water Quality Standards (62-302, F.A.C.) and the Impaired Waters Rule (IWR, 62-303, F.A.C.). If a waterbody is assessed as impaired, a TMDL must be developed to determine the maximum amount of a pollutant that a waterbody can receive and remain healthy. Once a TMDL has been completed, the waterbody is removed from the verified list regardless of whether or not the waterbody meets standards.
