Description: Spring protection zones are priority areas for BMAP project identification and funding that are based on assumed or modeled ground water travel time to target springs and high likelihood of land use activities to significantly influence water quality in them. Some spring protection zones in this coverage are based on protection zones that have been adopted in local ordinances. Others have been defined by DEP staff with stakeholder input during BMAP development. All areas are pending and not adopted by DEP.
