Description:

This depiction of historic shoreline surveys is one of the component datasets used to represent the extent of Retained Waters, as defined in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for assumption of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. It was used to produce "Screening Layer 1" within the Consolidated Retained Waters Guideline layer.

These data are derived from shoreline data that were produced by the NOAA National Ocean Service including its predecessor agencies. Where T-sheets are unavailable, NOAA’s extracted vector shoreline (EVS) was used to compile seamless shoreline coverage. For this layer, NOAA's national dataset was clipped to the Florida state boundary and control points, jetties, and piers were removed.
