Abstract:
This dataset contains the Regional Pest Management Plan (RPMP) Parks and Parks Buffer.
The buffer surrounds a prioritised sub-set of parkland containing Significant Ecological Areas (SEAs). For some pest plant species, Auckland Council will undertake pest plant management in the buffer areas as well as on-park, while for other species rules require pest plants to be managed in buffer areas by the land occupiers in those buffer areas. If needed refer to the RPMP (available on Auckland Council’s website) for further details of the park names and species rules.
Purpose:
Regional Pest Management Plan (RPMP) Parks and Parks Buffer is to assist Council staff in planning and implementing the RPMP. It is also being made available to the public so that land occupiers can identify whether their property falls within the buffer area.
Lineage:
Dataset was initially created from a 500m buffer applied to all parks within a Significant Ecological Area. The dataset was then refined to apply only to a prioritised sub-set of these parks of particularly high biodiversity value and further slightly edited as a result of Environment Court processes.
