Service Description: This point feature class contains selected land fixture assets in
parks and community spaces that are generally owned and/or
maintained by Auckland Council Community Facilities (CF)
Department. These include BBQ, beach showers, bike stands,
drinking fountains, fitness stations, seats, and picnic tables. Also
including in this dataset are bins along the street corridors which
CF contactors are responsible for.

This data is primarily used by council and its contractors in identifying the location of the asset.
Lineage:
This data was a product of consolidating legacy GIS datasets from the previous regional council and seven city and district councils. Since amalgamation in 2010, the data has been updated by Asset Management teams. Points are digitised from urban aerial photography, and attribute information is captured from field validation and inspections during park audits and asset turnover process.
