Description:

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. DEA Authorized Collectors provide year round drop off locations to the public to dispose of unwanted pharmaceuticals.

Medicines play an important role in treating many conditions and diseases, but when they are no longer needed, it’s important to dispose of them properly to avoid harm to others. Medicine take-back programs for disposal are a good way to remove expired, unwanted or unused medicines from the home and reduce the chance that others may accidentally take the medicine.

Prescription drug drop-off locations were provided by DEA and AZ Crime Prevention. Phone numbers of each of the sites were provided by ADHS Geographic Information System team in June 2022.
