Service Description: The intention of this mapping project was to update the 2006 riparian vegetation classification maps from the Lower Colorado and Bill Williams Rivers (BioWest 2006) using 2010 imagery and the Anderson and Ohmart classification system (1984). The maps will be used for identifying survey areas for system-wide covered species surveys and for identifying potential areas for the habitat maintenance fund. These maps can be used for other projects and species surveys as needed.

Description: Change polygons, at 2 levels (200 and 800), were created using e-Cognition, 2004 Ortho-photos, and 2010 NAIP imagery. Once polygons were created, polygons were assigned A&O labels through photo-interpretation. Change polygons were cut, reshaped, or merged as necessary to classify the habitat as accurately as possible. In addition to the 2010 NAIP imagery, imagery from 2011 was used to assist with structural labels so that they would more closely reflect the current conditions at the time of map production.
