Description: This layer contains the minor transportation areas that have been captured through various processes, beginning in 1997 and updated most recently in 2013 using aerial imagery from 2009 within Fairfax County. The different sources of the minor transportation areas are indicated within the minor transportation areas attributes.

Copyright Text: The portion of the data set in the southeastern quadrant of Fairfax County with a source of "2007 Stereo Models" was created by GeoDecisions/Fugro EarthData, Inc. The portion of the data set in the rest of the County and with a source of "2009 Stereo Models" in the southeastern quadrant was created by GeoDecisions/Infotech, Inc. All quadrants were under contract to Fairfax County. Quality control checks were performed by Plangraphics. Staff from the GIS branch were also used for quality control checking 1997: The data set was created by Analytical Surveys Incorporated (ASI) and Landata under contract to Fairfax County. Quality control checks were performed by Engineering Systems Incorporated and Dewberry and Davis. Staff from the GIS branch were also used for quality control checking.
