Description: The Forest Plan allows for the identification of areas where larger groups can use National Forest Lands for activities (commercial or non-commercial). The ROD group areas identified are for large group areas or enclaves that are approved for commercial uses. Large group areas and enclaves are managed slightly different because of the direction by the Land Use Designation.
Description: Area Units are geographic areas established by Districts to manage outfitter/guide activities developed by each district. Geographic areas are identified by similar features, Land Use Designation, and recreation experience.
