Description: This dataset contains point locations of southern pine beetle treatment spots on non-federal lands in the Southern Region. The data were collected by the local forester for the respective state forestry agency or national forest for each individual treatment. Data are collected after each practice is completed. Way points are required as part of the Southern Pine Beetle Prevention Program. All of the data were collected on site. State data are received from state agency databases as part of their record-keeping of practices completed and federal requirement for receiving SPB Prevention Program funding. National Forest data were downloaded from the FACTS (Forest Activity Tracking System) database. Data are updated annually as part of accomplishment reporting. Funding for all of the treatments comes from Forest Health Protection as part of the SPB Prevention Program.
