Description: Depicts the spatial location of areas showing the type of Recreation Opportunity Settings that exist. The ROS (Recreation Opportunity Spectrum) is an inventory based on remoteness, level of development, human interaction and motorization which describes settings for recreation experiences. The settings begin with PRIMITIVE (P) at the most remote and undeveloped end of the spectrum, and continue through SEMI-PRIMITIVE NON-MOTORIZED (SPNM), SEMI-PRIMITIVE MOTORIZED (SPM), ROADED-MODIFIED (RM), ROADED-NATURAL (RN), RURAL (R), AND URBAN. Winter and Summer seasons have been inventoried separately.
