Description: This routed system dataset depicts roads within or in close proximity to the Huron-Manistee National Forests. The GIS data corresponds to the official Forest Service road data (INFRA). Additional attributes can be obtained by joining the INFRA tables with the GIS data on Control Number (CN). Road segments in this data have a directionality that follows the following general rules: from south to north and west to east; from main route to end for terminal lines; clockwise around loops. Basic attribute information includes the following fields: RTE_NO: Local road route numbers or names, County roads start with "C-", state with "MI- or DNR-" and US with "US-". Forest Serves roads on the Huron National Forest have numbers from 1000-4999; routes on the Manistee NF have numbers from 5000-9999. BMP: Beginning mile postEMP: The end measure point for the route corresponding to the road length in INFRA. This value may or may not match the GIS length. Route lengths are calibrated to this EMP value, therefore effecting the display of linear events along the route. ROADNAME: The route name for map labelling. NAME: The route name from the INFRA database
