Description: Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) environments consist of many built features. In addition to residential structures and other assocaited features such as sheds, many WUI properties contain signficant amounts of linear features such as fences or retaining walls. These linear features are rarely considered in most post-fire assessments. The affects these linear features have on primary structure survival to WUI fires is not well understood to date. The post-fire assessment of the 2011 Texas Tanglewood Fire (Tanglewood Fire) conducted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the United States Forest Service (USFS), and the Texas A&M Forest Service (TFS) represents one of the first attempts to document damaged, destroyed and not damaged or destroyed linear built features at a WUI incident. This line feature class is used to store results of integrated field and remote sensing post-fire assessments to document significant linear features found within the Tanglewood Fire. Certain smaller linear features such as landscape borders might be documented in the Tanglewood Fire Geodatabase AdditionalFeatures Feature Class.
