Watersheds - Surface Water Hydrologic Unit Boundary Polygons for the 8 major Hawaiian islands. Source: State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Commission on Water Resource Management. Created as part of a partial update to the Water Resource Protection Plan (2008).
Original layer created for the Office of Planning: State Definition and Delineation of Watersheds, prepared by GDSI, 1995. Update, 1999: Refinement of Hawaii Watershed Delineations, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, GDSI. Update by CWRM, 2008: Derived from the watershed layers created and updated by GDSI for the Office of State Planning and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (see below). The GDSI layer was updated by CWRM and Office of State Planning staff in 2008 using water diversion points submitted by water use declarants and stream diversion work permit applicants, as well as CWRM staff visual review.
