The coastline type of Triniddad was geomorphologically classified using the 2014 coastline, the sandy shorelines and heads-up digitisation and visual interpretation of the 2014 Aerial Imagery. Into the following classes:
Sandy Beaches, Exposed Rocky Platforms, Exposed Vertical Rocky Shores/Exposed Seawalls, Gravel Beaches/ Rip-rap, Mangroves, Sheltered Rocky Shores/Seawalls, Solid Man-Made Structures, Tidal-Flats, Vegetated Banks.
The coastal areas of Trinidad have been classified based on geomorphology and their vulnerability to spilled oil.
