Description: Polyline feature class identifying the most accurate scientific (as opposed to administrative or political) watershed boundary for the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority based on the best currently available data in the data model prescribed by the Water Resources Information Program as the provincial standard for managing scientific watershed boundaries for the establishment of Source Water Protection Regions and Areas.. Attributes track source CA, editor, and geometry scale, source, base and method etc. Shoreline portions of the boundary utilize the Great Lakes Shoreline 2002 DTM data. Watershed divides were determined in consultation with the Grand River and Hamilton Region Conservation Authorities using 2002 1:2000 DTM data. The dataset was derived for regulatory purposes of the Clean Water Act (identification of Niagara Peninsula Source Protection Area) but it serves as general update to the Niagara Watershed boundary.
