This layer is a subset of the full Trains (TRAINS_ARC) dataset. It contains one continuous linear feature for each of the operational and seriously proposed MBTA Commuter Rail lines. The linework was extracted from the the Trains data as provided to MassGIS from the Central Transportation Planning Staff and modified by MassGIS to create one arc per Commuter route. Stored in ArcSDE and distributed as a shapefile, the layer is named TRAINS_RTE_TRAIN. Also see TRAINS_ARC and TRAINS_NODE (named station location points).
