This layer is the official state-maintained street transportation dataset of major roads available from MassGIS and represents all the designations for Interstate, U.S. and State highways and many major collector roads.

The layer is extracted from the May 2022 release of the full MassDOT Roads layer (EOTROADS_ARC) where CLASS >= 4.

In ArcSDE this layer is named EOTMAJROADS_ARC.
