Service Description: The Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC (FBCENC) Executive Team need to identify areas that are appropriate for mobile food pantry stops because the FBCENC has limited resources to take food and other necessary items into the community and need to maximize time, money, and reach -- getting the most resources to the most community members as easily and equitably as possible. Thus, we need to design a plan for mobile pantry food delivery meet-up locations, which maximizes time, money, and reach by getting the most resources to the most community members as easily and equitably as possible (i.e. safe meet-up locations for community members along public transportation routes where applicable and within food deserts). The target location for the mobile food pantry is within Raleigh city limits, as the Raleigh City Council is willing to fund the project for one calendar year. Areas of interest include locations of farmers markets, college and universities, public K-12 schools, parks, and public libraries.
