Service Description: this Web Map displays the ideal conservation areas for restoring the threatened Longleaf Pine community. The following areas were selected based on various criteria including being within 15 miles of wildfires recorded in the last seven days (March 18, 2025 to March 25, 2025), within a federal, state, or privately (Federal > State > Private) managed USA Protected Area, sandy or sandy loamy soils, within 75 miles of an observed Venus Flytrap Dionaea muscipula, and within the Middle Atlantic Coastal Plain ecotone. The data were downloaded from NASA FIRMS, NatureServe, USDA SSURGO, ESRI Catalog, and NC OneMap. The geoprocessing occurred in ArcGIS Pro and the Pop-ups were configured in ArcGIS Pro.
