Service Description: This is a point data set of previous, current, and future fire stations within and near the Boise Fire District in Southwest Idaho. A fire station is defined as a facility in which fire fighters are stationed at, or based out of, for first response dispatching. This data set includes fire stations primarily engaged in urban firefighting. This data set does not contain locations for training facilities, administration offices, or other facilities. This data set was originally created by Boise City GIS. Effective 2012 the data is now maintained by the Boise Fire Department. The data set is current to the date it was published.

Description:

This dataset was created for Boise Fire specifically to support network analysis, routing, and other spatial analysis needs for response time analysis and master planning for evaluating station location. This data set is catered to the Boise Fire Department needs and should not be used for general mapping purposes. For general mapping of fire stations use the regional fire facility data set. The regional fire facility data includes all fire facilities (i.e. training, administration, stations, storage) in Ada and Canyon county.
