This is a polygon data set that depicts the current fire inspection areas for Boise City. The Boise City Fire Department Inspectors are responsible for a variety of fire related activities including verifying that new, existing, or alteration of existing buildings within the Boise Area of Impact conforms to the fire codes established by the State and Boise City. The Boise City Fire Department Battalion Chiefs are the first officers in command of the Fire Suppression Divisions. The Boise City Fire Department divides areas of responsibility geographically, using the fire inspection polygons to determine which inspectors are responsible for a particular geographic area. There are two inspectors per inspection area.

The fire inspection area boundaries subdivide the Boise City Area of Impact and external boundaries of the North Ada County Fire and Rescue (NACFR) district as determined by Boise Fire Department officials.
