Service Description: This is a point data set representing all fire hydrants in Ada County, Idaho (and some adjacent areas). For this data set a fire hydrant is any street fixture designed to enable firefighters to tap into a water distribution system to extinguish fires. This data set is an aggregate of hydrant locations supplied by assorted water providers and local government agencies in Ada County that map fire hydrants for asset management and/or public safety needs. When available, this data set distinguishes privately owned hydrants from those owned by the water provider and/or in the public right of way. This data does not convey asset ownership or active status of a fire hydrant. Data quality and completeness varies between the data providers; this data set is provided ‘as is’.
