Description: This was a shapefile that was here when I arrived in November 2015. I have updated data by digitized using ArcGIS imagery and plot maps from the different Scientist here at the facility. Field locations were determined changes where made from previous editions with updated field ID numbers included. Data was updated in March 2019 some plot sites were GPS and then edits were made with imagery. This dataset includes crops, yields harvested and other individual project info.“Grain_Yld_hand” is the average grain yield (kg/ha) of spring wheat, corn, or soybean obtained from hand-harvested samples within a plot. Four samples (1=NW, 2=NE, 3=SE, 4=SW) were obtained to calculate average grain yield for each plot. Sampling areas were 0.5 x 0.5 mm for spring wheat and 2’ x 30” for corn and soybean.Area IV fields – combine yield data“Yield_Ac” is the grain or seed yield per acre of each crop in either bushels (“bu”) or pounds (“lb”). Yield was determined by combining a subsection of the field whose area was determined by a yield monitor and the resulting grain weighed in a weigh wagon.Small plots – combine yield data“Yield_Ac” is the grain or seed yield per acre in either bushels (“bu”) or pounds (“lb”). Yield was determined us using a research plot combine (5 ft wide grain header) equipped with a grain weighing system.
