Large culverts that run under a state roadway. Refreshed and located nightly from any MATS culvert that has coordinates (latitude/longitude) within 100 feet of the specified route’s centerline. Large culverts are defined as a pipe or structure with a total span width greater than 5 feet and less than 10 feet OR any multiple pipes, where the clear distance between openings is less than half of the smaller contiguous opening, and the total flow area is between 20 and 80 square feet. Contact: Jim Saban - Jim.Saban@maine.gov This is a test to upload the metadata using the python api, script v2.
Represents locations of bridges along Maine's public roads with a clear span of greater than 10 feet. Large culvert bridges that have clear spans of less than 10 feet are not included. Point attributes include ownership/maintenance jurisdiction, overall superstructure, substructure, deck, and culvert conditions. Users should always note the publication date.
Represents areas designated by the Maine Department of Transportation to be Urban Compact. These "Built-up" sections represent areas where structures along the highway are nearer than 200 feet apart for a distance of 1/4 of a mile, unless otherwise defined; reference MRSA 23 sub-section 754. These polygons should not be confused with Maine's federal urban boundaries, which are represented in a different dataset managed at Maine DOT.
