Description: Los criterios para definir estas regiones fueron: carácter biológico, la presencia de especies amenazadas y su conservación. Para delimitar las áreas se partió de información cartográfica: topografía (1:250000), divisoria de aguas, sustrato y vegetación (1:100000). Asimismo se tomó en cuenta regionalizaciones ya establecida como las del Sianp (áreas naturales protegidas). La Semarnat (regionalización ecológica) y la CNA (regionalización hidrologica).
