Point feature GIS vector dataset of points of interest located in Wyandotte County, Kansas, furnished as an ESRI shapefile format file in Kansas North State Plane Coordinates, Datum NAD83, Units US feet. Point locations generally depict buildings. Points of Interest (POI) features included are noteworthy tourism and sightseeing attractions, travel destinations, entertainment venues, and other popular cultural sites. Some examples are Kansas Speedway (a NASCAR racetrack), Agriculture Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, 7th Street Casino, and private RV camping. Cultural features which may be general points of interest, but are NOT in this dataset include libraries, public parks, public and private golf courses, historic sites and monuments, landmarks, government buildings, post offices, cemeteries, hospitals, restaurants, etc. Many of these excluded features are found in various other thematic GIS layers published by GSS (inquire for more information).
