Description: Central Business Improvement District (CBID) was created in 1993 by ordinance of the Knoxville City Council to provide enhanced services within the downtown Knoxville area beyond what the City of Knoxville is able to provide. Residential and business recruitment and development are one of the CBID's key functions. To that end, the CBID worked with the Metropolitan Planning Commission to create a database containing businesses and available spaces where new businesses could locate. Information about parking garages and lots within the area is available as well.
