Description: Poles are cylindrical structures with multiple functions including the transmission of utility lines and housing for light structures. In the case of utility poles, a unique number is assigned to each pole by the owner of the utility. A pole number field is included as a link between the drop, guy, and pole feature classes. Poles may include transformers, drops, lights, and other facilities as part of their structure. Information about secondary facilities on utility poles is captured via a series of yes/no fields in this feature class. Landscape and other aesthetic lighting is captured in the miscellaneous feature class as the 'light' type. Only large wooden/metal poles which are designed/purposed to carry utility lines are captured in the pole feature class.Symbology used to represent electric features should utilize the American Public Works Association (APWA) utility color codes standard (rgb; 209, 36, 33) (pantone matching system; PMS 1795).
