Description:

Polygon output from classifying the flood depth raster generated by U.S. Geological Survey. The depth raster was developed for the San Jacinto River for the August and September 2017 flood event in Texas.

This depth raster was created to support the development of flood inundation maps for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) response and recovery operations  following the August and September, 2017 flood event in the communities within the San Jacinto River Basin, Texas. The depth raster shows an estimated maximum depth of water over the area which was inundated.

This dataset was created using high-water mark elevation data values and elevation values from the StratMap 2017 East Texas Light imaging detection and ranging (Lidar) derived digital elevation model (DEM) 1-meter dataset, StratMap 2011 Austin, Grimes, Walker Lidar-derived DEM 1-meter dataset, Houston-Galveston Area Council Lidar-derived DEM 1.5-meter dataset and the FEMA 2011 Liberty Lidar-derived DEM 2-meter dataset.
