Description: This vector layer contains the values used to derive a wildfire risk index (WRI) for Sonoma County. The final WRI is derived from adding seven other ranks (or indices)for the following parameters:
1. Sonoma Wildfire Hazard Index - average value for pixels falling within each hexagon - this layer was derived from a number of layers including: predicted flame length, fire weather potential, road network, location of electrical transmission lines, and suppression difficulty (USFS).
2. Average of Sonoma Wildfire Hazard Index within 1 Mile of each hexagon
3. Pyrologix's Ember Load Index - average value of pixels falling within each hexagon
4. Average of Pyrologix's Ember Load Index within 1 Mile of each hexagon
5. Structure Density Index - based on the number of structures found within each hexagon and classed into quantiles
6. Average Structure Density Index within 1 Mile of each hexagon
7. Road Network Rank - based on a 2019 evacuation analysis conducted by Kevin Lacefield with Sonoma County ISD
Version 6 of this data layer also includes an average of the final WRI found within 1 mile of each hexagon.
