The dataset represents the State of California Treasurer’s | California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (“CTCAC”) and California Department of Housing and Community Development (“HCD”) 2025 Opportunity Area Map for Sonoma County. The 2025 Opportunity Maps were adopted December 2024.

CTCAC/HCD Opportunity Area Maps are used by the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee to:

1. Index census tracts based on economic, social, employment, educational, and environmental indicators

2. These maps identify areas in California that support positive economic, educational, and health outcomes for low-income families

3. They filter areas based on poverty and racial segregation standards

4. The maps were developed in response to research showing that neighborhood characteristics impact long-term outcomes for low-income families and children

5. They also assist in advancing specific Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing objectives.
