Service Description: This map shows the locations of the wildlife bridge crossings throughout the state of Florida. Although there are some throughout the entire state, the majority of them are in District 1. District 1 encompasses the southwest part of the state and consists of the following counties: Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee, Okeechobee, Polk and Sarasota.

Description:

This is a representation of the Florida Department of Transportation’s wildlife bridge crossings throughout the state. A wildlife bridge crossing is a road-related structure that provides wildlife an option to cross under roadways. These crossings have the potential to reduce motor vehicle collisions with wildlife, consequently reducing the likelihood of injuries and mortalities to humans and wildlife as well as reducing the potential for damage to motor vehicles.
