Local TIGER Roads Details
This dataset is a subset of the original TIGER/Line Shapefile produced by the US Census. The following changes have been made to the original TIGER dataset: All overlapping line segments have been removed. Bridle paths, parking lot roads, bike paths, walkways, stairways, and alleys have been removed. Line segments that are already represented in the FDOT's RCI centerline dataset have been removed or edited (this includes editing TIGER segments that are only partially represented by RCI line segments). Road Names have been formatted to US postal service and RCI road naming standards. Tiger segments have been edited to topologically conjoin with RCI centerline roads. The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The All Roads Shapefile includes all features within the MTDB Super Class "Road/Path Features" distinguished where the MAF/TIGER Feature Classification Code (MTFCC) for the feature in MTDB that begins with "S". This includes all primary, secondary, local neighborhood, and rural roads, city streets, vehicular trails (4wd), ramps, service drives, alleys, parking lot roads, private roads for service vehicles (logging, oil fields, ranches, etc.), bike paths or trails, bridle/horse paths, walkways/pedestrian trails, and stairways.
RCI LRS Dual Alignments Details
Dual alignments were extracted from the RCI arcs dataset maintained by TDA FDOT. The geometry of these features is maintained by the LRS editor. Currently, these line segments have no attribute information associated with them. Existing attributes are cross referenced with information from 2024 HPMS event table from each segments corresponding dual alignment.
RCI LRS Connectors
RCI connectors were extracted from the RCI arcs dataset maintained by TDA FDOT. The geometry of these features is maintained by the LRS editor. These line segments provide connectivity where gaps exist in the current RCI LRS geometry. They have been attributed as local and non-mainline segments with other ownership and given the name 'RCI CONNECTOR'. These segments are useful for cartographic purposes and network topology.
