This dataset displays 3 distinct suggested areas for limited tourism in Bonaire based on established areas of high sea turtle activity and areas containing dead or dying coral reefs. The suggested areas surround points where these features overlap with a 0.75km radius.

This dataset covers Bonaire and the waters surrounding the island. It is projected using WGS 1984 UTM Zone 19N.

Data was taken from 2016 hyperspectral coral data by Mücher, C.A., publicly available on the Dutch Caribbean Biodiversity database, and turtle sighting data taken from the Ocean Biodiversity Information System Spatial Ecological Analysis of Megavertebrate Populations using hundreds of combined datasets on green sea turtle, loggerhead turtle, and hawksbill turtle sightings.
