Description: This datalayer represents major highway routes, manually selected and extracted from the MassDOT Major Roads layer (EOTMAJROADS_ARC) for small-scale mapping and fast display. The layer includes features where ADMIN_TYPE = 1 (Interstate) or 2 (U.S.), or where the RT_NUMBER or any of the alternate route numbers for state routes (ADMIN_TYPE = 3) is 2, 3, 8, 9, 18, 24, 25, 28 or 128. In ArcGIS 10.0 these roads were dissolved as multi-part features on the ADMIN_TYPE and RT_NUMBER items.
The layer is extracted from the November 2018 MassDOT Roads data.
In ArcSDE this layer is named EOTMAJROADS_RTE_MAJOR.
