Project_Description (type: esriFieldTypeString, alias: GENERAL PROJECT OBJECTIVES: Native seed and plant material collection is of high priority for the U.S. Forest Service to support restoration following fire and other disturbance events. CSU will provide assistance to the U.S. Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Region with building a regional native plant materials program to help address Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) objectives to ensure integrated benefits for long term soil stability, maintain or improve wildlife habitat, and provide for resilient ecosystems. This project's collaborative efforts will also support meeting the Burned Area Rehabilitation (BAR) program's Category 2 objectives of ensuring appropriate, native plant materials are available for use in post-fire efforts to repair or improve fire-damaged lands unlikely to recover naturally to a management approved condition. The R2 regional native plant materials program is collecting native plant materials on all units in the region for grow out and increase, so that we can proactively have plant materials available to units for use in revegetation projects at the time and in quantities needed.
