Description:

County level data was downloaded from the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) at https://www.nass.usda.gov/Publications/AgCensus/2017/Online_Resources/Ag_Atlas_Maps/ . The data for the continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii were merged to create a spatial dataset to apply attribution.

A selection of 3 attributes from the NASS 2017 Agricultural census (https://www.nass.usda.gov/AgCensus/) were used to fill the following attributes:

NumFarms - Y17_M001: Number of Farming operations

NetIncome - Y17_M031: Net Cash income of farming operations

FarmLandPercent - Y17_M059: Acres of Land in Farms as Percent of Land Area in Acres

In addition, a measure of acres of farmland was derived using the following equation:
