Description: This dataset represents cities and towns in Nevada with estimated population counts. Original source taken from ESRI 10.0 Maps and data CD and merged with the USGS Geographic Names. Additional cities were added from our SDE, source unknown. Population figures were taken from census and city websites. Other population numbers were found by Jacqueline Pursell on various websites, including pictures of the town signs that stated population, ghost town websites, and other sites that either stated an offical number, estimate, or a clear enough description to get an estimated guess. Whatever was not found on the internet, Dave Simpson and Jeryl Gardner, who both have been to most cities in Nevada, had estimated or found numbers for these places.
