Service Description: This dataset is derived from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department woodland layer. The purpose is to identify the distribution of core woodland habitats in North Dakota. This product is not to be interpreted as a landuse/landcover classification. This dataset quantifies the amount of woodland/shrubland in a 160 acre neighborhood at each focal point of the woodland dataset. Various thresholds were utilized to identify core woodland, primary and secondary habitat, or fixed intervals of the percent of woodland on the landscape. For the ND Game and Fish Department maps services, fixed categories were delineated for percent woodland per 160 acre neighborhood. Classification methods can be utilized at the user's discretion.
